We have never pushed for gimmicks or strategies to add to our numbers. We want to teach the Bible faithfully and thoroughly, and that doesn’t always lend itself to popularity.

With this type of ministry philosophy, the tendency is to completely forsake any effort to invite people to the LounGe – because we’re not about numbers. This is not being faithful either, so we have to find a balance.

As we grow in the knowledge of Christ, the Gospel, and the Word, our desire should be to also see others come and grow in the same way. We never want our personal growth be the end goal of our spiritual maturity.

So our work should be to grow in Christ, and also bring other to stand among us and learn alongside us. What we need is an on going campaign to remind us to invite others to the LounGe. But not with a purpose to grow numerically, but so that others can hear the gospel, grow in faith, and affect others around them.

Which bring us to the new and improved, “1UP PROJECT”. This is an initiative to energize the LounGe to reach the world one person at a time. The kingdom of God advances one soul at a time from personal relationships, as one person invests in another.

The New 1UP PROJECT has three pillars: Live, Love, and Tell. In this, we find that our life and how we love is foundational before we can tell anyone about Jesus, or even before we invite them to the LounGe. Here’s the clear view of each pillar:

Live: We are called in such a way to live lives that aims to honor God in all that we do. The amazing truth is that People are attracted to lives that they respect, even if they don’t agree with it. Practically speaking, this is done at every level of our life today. That means life at work, friends, family, even among our online friends.

Love: It’s about others. It’s about service. It’s about compassion. It’s about showing love in a practical way so that others are uplifted, blessed, and encouraged. These people might not understand ministry, theology, doctrine, or even the LounGe. But they do understand hospitality, kindness, and generosity. And that is what will attract most people to us.

Tell: The Bible says “…how can they hear unless someone tells them”. After we live well, and love practically, the next step is to tell someone what we have. That can mean bringing people to grow in community with us. It means having them come alongside us as we worship and study. Ultimately it’s allowing them to experience the Lord through the LounGe.

As we learn and grow, let’s not keep it to ourselves. Let’s go out and pull in those who need to see how love really works and how learning adds to our joy in the Lord. And as we launch this familiar program in a new light, let’s really do it in a way that we live Christ, love others, and tell them about it.
